It is a great privilege to inform you that the 37th Annual Conference of the Association Of Neuroscientists Of Eastern India, ANEICON 2024, will be held from November 29th to 1st December 2024, in Puri, Odisha.
The neuroscientists of Odisha are delighted to welcome you to Puri, Odisha. We will ensure that both the scientific deliberations and hospitality are exceptional.

Odisha is a beautiful state known for its long shorelines, the Chilika Lake, the Konark Sun Temple, the Lord Lingaraj Temple, the Dhauli Shanti Stupa of Bhubaneswar, and above all, the Lord Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri. The city of Puri, a historic city is also known as the "1 Dham from The 4 Dham " where the stone carvings are akin to poetry.The architectural heritage, temple carvings, hand-woven textiles, and filigree works of Odisha are renowned worldwide.

In addition to the academic feast, there will be cultural activities in the evenings and opportunities to taste both national and regional Odia cuisines, which will surely touch your heart and palate.We look forward to your active participation.

Abstract Guidelines

Submit Abstract

The Association of Neuroscientists of Eastern India (ANEI) invites original submissions for consideration of awards for scientific presentation during the Annual Conference of the Association of Neuroscientists of Eastern India (ANEICON 2024) to be held at Puri, Odisha from 29th November to 1st December 2024.

Papers can be submitted under various categories, as detailed here under:

  1. Platform Presentations
  2. Poster Presentations
  3. Award Papers (Only for ANEI Members)
    • Best Research Paper in Neurology
    • Best Research Paper in Neurosurgery

Guidelines

  1. All abstracts for ANEICON 2024 should be submitted only through the ANEICON 2024 website https://www.aneicon2024.com/
  2. No submissions by email OR physical submission will be considered.
  3. Abstracts should be submitted in ENGLISH language only.
  4. Abstract submission is open on Date 01.10.2024 8.00 am onwards To 05.11.2024 till 6.00 pm
  5. If you submit more than one abstract get accepted, the only one will be considered for platform presentation, and the other(s) will be considered for poster presentation.

A structured abstract (maximum 300 words) under the following subheadings should be given:

A structured abstract (maximum 300 words) under the following subheadings should be given:

Award Papers

  1. The presenting author should be an Indian National of age < 45 years.
  2. The presenting author should be a member of the ANEI at the time of submission of written paper/abstract. The areas may include but are not restricted to Neurosciences (Neurology & Neurosurgery).
  3. The presenting author should submit an abstract of not more than 300 words which is similarly structured as
    • Background & Aims
    • Material & Method / Methodology
    • Results
    • Discussion
    • Conclusion
  4. The presenting author should register for the ANEICON 2024
  5. The work should have been carried out in India.
  6. If selected for the final evaluation, the author will have to present the paper/poster at the ANEICON 2024.
  7. The paper will be evaluated by anonymous judges on the merit of the content, the presentation at the conference and the way the presenter responds to the queries from the audience.
  8. The decision of the judges shall be final and binding and no further evaluation will be entertained.

The details of how to prepare your paper are given below.

There should not be any identifying details such as name of authors, institution in the body of the article. The name of the Institution can be marked as xxxxxx in the material methods section. Please make sure that the paper fulfils all the requirement above, failing which it is liable to be rejected.

The Title

  1. The title of the article.
  2. Concise titles are easier to read than long, convoluted ones.
  3. A running head no more than 40 words.

Authors

  1. Presenting Authors’ name (First, Middle and Last Name) and institutional affiliations.
  2. Each author’s highest academic degree can be mentioned after the name.
  3. The name of the department(s) and institution(s) to which the work should be attributed.
  4. Disclaimers, if any.
  5. Presenting author. The name, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address of the presenting author responsible for correspondence about the manuscript are required.
  6. Source(s) of support in the form of grants, equipment, drugs, or all of these.

Body of the article

    The text of observational and experimental articles should be divided into sections with the headings

  1. Background & Aims
  2. Material & Method / Methodology
  3. Results
  4. Discussion
  5. Conclusion

Material and methods

The material and methods section should be written very carefully. It should reflect the authenticity of the work that formed the foundation of the manuscript. The details of the study, period of study, whether it was prospective or retrospective, should be mentioned. The source of the subjects, departments, inpatient service or outpatient service that contributed the subjects, source of pathological samples, if drawn from archives etc need to be clearly mentioned. A responsible person from these departments could be one of the authors or they should be acknowledged appropriately. The laboratory methods, source of specific reagents if applicable (for eg.Immunohisto chemical studies) should be provided. The authors should clearly state whether informed consent was taken for each subject, and approval of the Institutional Ethics committee was available. Kindly mention who had carried out the statistical analysis.

Puri

Puri, a city located on the shores of Odisha holds great historical importance and serves as a sacred hub, for Hinduism. It is among the Char Dhams and the Jagannath Temple stands out as a tourist attraction. This captures the interest of devotees from all over the world who come to seek blessings from Lord Shree Jagannath, his brother Lord Shree Balabhadra and their younger sister Maa Subhadra. The Rath Yatra, also known as the Chariot Festival showcases the magnificence and devotion surrounding this event.

In addition, to its significance, Puri is blessed with unspoiled beaches that offer peace and tranquillity. The stunning coastline stretches, for 35 kilometres providing visitors with the opportunity to witness sunrises bask in the warmth of the golden sandy beaches and soak in the mesmerizing sunsets by the seaside. The crystal clear azure waters and gentle waves combine to create a backdrop offering a rejuvenating experience, like no other.


SHREE JAGANNATH TEMPLE

Constructed during the reign of Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva, the founder of the Ganga dynasty in the early 12th century A.D., the monumental Shree Jagannath Temple occupies the center of the inner courtyard on an elevated platform. Comprising Vimana or Deula (Garbhagriha), Jagamohana, Natamandapa, and Bhogamandapa, the temple's architectural style is a fusion of two distinct types – Rekha and Pidha. The Vimana follows the nagara type rekha deula design, while the Jagamohana adopts the Pidha deula form. Representing a refined manifestation of Indian, particularly Kalingan, architecture, the Shree Jagannatha Temple is a remarkable blend of styles, showcasing the aesthetic excellence of the Ganga dynasty during its construction in the 12th century A.D



BLUE FLAG BEACH, PURI

The Blue Flag Beach in Puri, designated for its environmental sustainability and water quality, is a pristine stretch along the Bay of Bengal. Achieving this prestigious status in 2021, the beach is a popular destination for tourists seeking clean, safe, and ecologically conscious coastal experiences. Visitors are drawn to its golden sands, clear waters, and well-maintained surroundings. Located on the eastern coast of India, the Blue Flag Beach in Puri offers a serene retreat with cultural and religious significance, as it is near the renowned Jagannath Temple.



SUN TEMPLE, KONARK - UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE

The Sun Temple in Konark, built in the 13th century, is located in Konark, Odisha. It was built by the King Narasimha Deva I and is about 35 kilometres away from Puri city. Famous for its unique architecture, the temple resembles a chariot for the Sun God, adorned with intricate sculptures depicting daily life. UNESCO recognized it as a World Heritage Site due to its outstanding artistic achievement, reflecting the 13th-century kingdom of Odisha. The temple stands as a cultural treasure, showcasing Hindu beliefs and the diffusion of the Surya cult, making it a vital piece of India's historical and religious heritage.



RAGHURAJPUR - A HERITAGE CRAFTS VILLAGE

Raghurajpur, located in the heritage-rich state of Odisha, India, is a crafts village renowned for its traditional art forms. Established over a thousand years ago, this cultural haven is a testament to India's artistic legacy. Visitors are drawn to Raghurajpur's vibrant streets lined with vibrant murals, Pattachitra paintings, palm leaf engravings, and Gotipua dance performances. The village's charm lies in its commitment to preserving ancient techniques, making it a haven for art enthusiasts and cultural connoisseurs.



PIPILI

Pipili Village has houses and shops with beautiful applique work in different colours, on display. This village is believed to be established by the king of Odisha for the craftsmen who used to make applique umbrellas and canopies for the annual Jagannath Yatra. One can find a variety of crafts for decorating ones household and ceremonies here.

CHILIKA LAKE

Chilika Lake in Barkul is a hub for tourism. This lake is home to many migratory birds and other endangered species. Tourists enjoy boating here, and the main attraction of this activity is the Kalijai Temple and Nalbana Bird sanctuary. During the month of February and November, visitors can see the island of this lake filled with beautiful birds.



KHANDAGIRI & UDAYAGIRI

These caves, located in the vicinity of Bhubaneswar, have both religious and historic importance to the state of Odisha. There are a total of 33 rock cuts in these caves, out of which 18 on the Udayagiri Hills are excavated, while the remaining 15 are on Khandagiri Hills. There are single and double storied caves here that represent the Jaina rock-cut architecture.

LINGARAJ TEMPLE

Lingaraj Temple is one of the oldest temples in Bhubaneswar, dedicated to the Hindu God Harihara, an avatar of Lord Shiva. It is also one of the oldest and largest temples in Bhubaneswar. This temple was first built by the ruler Jajati Kesari during the 7th century. Lingaraj Temple has a remarkable structure that attracts a vast number of tourists to the city.



DHAULI GIRI

Dhauli Giri lies across the Daya River and has the major edicts of Ashoka engraved on a mass of rock. This area is believed to be the battlefield where Ashoka had slain over 150,000 people. It is a pilgrimage site for both the Hindus and Buddhists. The hills are dotted with a number of rock-cut caves and temples along with numerous stupas, pillars, and monasteries.
